The Library Mission Statement:

To advocate for intellectual excellence, integrity, and lifelong learning and growth, the Saint Ignatius College Prep library provides leadership and support for the school community through access to resources, instruction and collaboration. Inspired by Jesuit, Catholic faith, tradition, and values, the library strives to ensure that members of this school community are effective and responsible users and creators of information and ideas.

DID YOU KNOW…

the library serves three to four hundred people a day?
The Foglia Library and the Beigel Room (right across the hall) offer study and collaborative work spaces for students. 

How our librarians assist students and faculty:

  • One-on-Ones

    We help students understand how to find content and how to cite it.
  • Presentations

    We work with teachers in classes to help students understand research tools.

Digital Resources

  • EBSCO

    provides full text articles from multiple sources via 10 separate databases, including an academic e-book collection. Our subscriptions include MAS Complete and Literary Reference Center.
  • JSTOR

    is an archive collection of scholarly journals, books and primary sources covering a variety of disciplines, used by many college campus libraries.
  • ProQuest

    features access to select current and historic newspapers.
  • The Gale Group Collection

    includes Opposing Viewpoints, Student Resources in Context, Gale Virtual Reference Library, and Lit Finder. This is a powerful set of database resources for retrieving full-text articles from magazines, scholarly journals, newspapers, encyclopedias and reference books.
  • We also feature these digital resources:

    Britannica (High School, ImageQuest, Original Sources and Moderna), Oxford (Classical Studies and English Dictionary), CQ Researcher, Issues and Controversies, Salem Online and Statista.
The library offers quiet study and collaborative work space for students. Library assistance is available for research, writing, citations and technology applications, as well as textbooks and apps needed for coursework.
